While the Bulldogs finished the year with only one regular season loss, they failed to make it to the Super Bowl, losing to Mt. Hope in the playoffs.

All said, Westerly did very well.  They outscored their opponents 523-67 this year, averaging 48 points per game!

The dynamic offensive attack, powered by its running game was unstoppable for most of the season. The offensive line held off opposing defenses and allowed the Bulldogs to be as dominant as they were. The defensive made timely turnovers and the defensive line applied pressure to the quarterback. Special teams made big plays to change the games. This sounds like a description of what each position is supposed to do, but it is an accurate description of what they did this year: they did everything right.

Even the losses were well played. They only lost by one touchdown in the Burrillville game, and one point in the Mt. Hope game.

If a Super Bowl could not be won this year, then a 61-0 pounding of Stonington was the next best way to end this memorable season.  The game that featured the second most points by the Bulldogs this year went the way most did this year: high scoring offense and lockdown defense.

The co-division champions have plenty to be proud of and will be hungry for more next year.
