Both the boys and girls Westerly Lacrosse teams are looking athletic, determined, and ready to win this season.

With head coach Mrs. Paisley and Assistant Coach Nicole Giguere, the girls are looking to return to the DIII girls championship after they were defeated last season by Johnston in a nail biter (6-7).

The girls are lead by captain Quinn Chappelle and will have no junior captains.

Returning varsity players include juniors Adrianna Turano(D), Kata Cummings(M), and Lauren Dobson(M) alongside sophomores Ashley Amato(A) and Molly Ridler(D).  Seniors Kallan Trombino(D), Sierra Nastasi(D), and Jules Esposito(D) are also major assets to the team dynamic.

Overall, the girls team hopes to gain another undefeated season and be not only division champions for a second year in a row, but also be victorious in the finals.

The boys team, who moved in to DII three years ago hope to improve their record from last season (4-11).

Lead by Head Coach Adam Kaufman and Assistant Coach Chad Trombino, the boys are focused on improving the offense.

Senior captain Eddie Fernandez(D) and junior Rhys Johnstone(M) provide leadership and guidance to new players on both JV and varsity.

Returning varsity players include juniors Brandon Christein(A) and goalie Isaiah Plourde. New to varsity this year is sophomore Tyler Fabert(M) and freshman Hogan Tirney(A).

Both teams will be working hard all season to reach their goals and come out on top of their divisions.
